The Denver Broncos have made another addition to their roster before OTAs kick off soon.

The Broncos have made some moves this offseason, whether it be through free agency, where they may have won that phase, or the NFL draft, where they made due with what they had. Of course, the UDFA market was good for Denver too, as they signed some guys that could have easily been drafted.

Now,, even after the rookie minicamp period, the Broncos are still making moves, and jumping on a trend that hopefully the entire NFL jumps on.

The NFL has been somewhat of a league partner with the XFL, a league that has made several returns to the football world and has been the preeminent spring football league in 2023. There are a lot of good players in the XFL, whether it be former NFL players, college guys who never got a shot, or guys who just started playing the game late, the league is good. Sure, it isn't the NFL, and it never will be, but it is now viewed as a developmental league next to the NFL.

The thought is that the league will help players get back in the NFL, and so far it has worked, a little bit. There have been a few players get signed to offseason contracts, including Seattle Sea Dragons quarterback Ben DiNucci, who once played with the Cowboys. He got another chance, and this time with the Denver Broncos.

According to Adam Schefter, the Broncos are signing DiNucci to a contract, and he will likely be the third string quarterback.

DiNucci once played value snaps for the Cowboys and even started a game in 2020 for the Cowboys. The idea is that he will be the third string quarterback for the Broncos behind Russell Wilson and Jarrett Stidham.

Hopefully more teams continue to jump on this trend.
