Ahead of the 2023 season, there were all kinds of rumors centering around the Denver Broncos' desire to trade former first-round pick, Jerry Jeudy.

Some reports had Denver wanting a first-round pick in return for Jeudy's services, which was absurdly high, at the time. It looks even crazier, now, thanks to hindsight.

The NFL obviously agrees with that, as well. That's because the Broncos finally traded Jeudy on Saturday after more than a year's worth of efforts – but the Cleveland Browns, Jeudy's acquiring team, only had to pay a fifth- and sixth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The move saves the Broncos nearly $13 million in cap space and it's an eerily similar trade to that of Amari Cooper. The Browns traded a fifth-round pick to the Dallas Cowboys in order to acquire Cooper ahead of the 2022 season. Since then, he has recorded back-to-back 1,100+ yard seasons and also caught 14 touchdowns over the last two years.

The Broncos now have eight total picks heading into the draft and a little more than $31 million in cap space after the move. Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick, Marvin Mims Jr., Brandon Johnson, Phillip Dorsett, David Sills, Michael Bandy, and Jalen Virgil are the receivers currently under contract for 2024.
