The Denver Broncos have another position battle that will happen on the offensive line during training camp.
We know about the guys that will be battling for that center position; however, other positions will have some competitiveness when training camp starts.
The Broncos made a ton of additions this offseason, but the ones that stand out the most are the offensive line, where they spent a lot of money in free agency. They went and got left guard Ben Powers, who finished with just 12 pressures allowed in over 600 pass-blocking snaps in 2022, and they grabbed Mike McGlinchey, who has been a vital part of the San Francisco 49ers' offensive line for a few years.
Even though they didn't make moves to every part, they have positions that have the starters on lock. For example, the starting right guard position is pretty much locked in with Quinn Meinerz, especially with how he played last season.
However, the guys behind him will battle for that second spot in training camp. The second-string right guard isn't one that's locked in, so here are the guys that will try and battle for it:
Kyle Fuller

This second-string spot is Fuller’s to lose. He played center a lot for the Seattle Seahawks in 2022, but OurLads has him listed as the potential backup right guard. So, in other words, he is versatile. Fuller is entering his sixth season, and prior to last season, he had always been a center. In 2022, he played center and guard for Seattle.
Fuller has the experience on his side when it comes to being that second guy at the position. Another thing he has is familiarity with Russell Wilson from his days in Seattle. The two could have a close relationship, and for all we know, that would be why Fuller signed with the Broncos. That is one huge reason the position, or role, I should say, is his to lose. However, it doesn't mean he can't lose it.
Will Sherman

Sherman hasn’t played since 2021, and even then, he played just six total snaps, all coming on special teams. In 2023 he has the chance to get back on the field for the first time since then. Getting that backup position won’t guarantee playing time at right guard, but it will likely give him chances to play special teams, and if he can do that well, he could have a shot at starting if Quinn Mienerz gets hurt.
But he's to win the backup position over Kyle Fuller. The former Colorado Buffalo is back in the state, and he has all the tools to be a good backup. However, training camp is where you can start seeing what separates a guy from being a special teams player, a second-string offensive player.; or even a practice squad player.
These aren't position battles that will just ow you, where you will see guys make crazy plays. No, this will come down to who the coaching staff likes more. You may not even be able to tell watching as a fan who is doing better. But, this is still a battle to watch for in terms of who will get that position.
