With the Denver Broncos having a limited selection in the upcoming draft, courtesy of the Russell Wilson trade, Sean Payton and company have had to do their best to fill important positions by other means.

Payton has been stellar with some acquisitions that will immediately make an impact on game day. Not only has Payton protected Russell by bolstering the offensive line and getting a pass-blocking tight end, but he has provided important depth to some key positions as well.

With the NFL draft around the corner, trades are becoming more and more likely and the rumor mill is heating up with each passing day. The latest development is one that would completely shake up the current roster, and send shockwaves across the NFL.

While incredibly unlikely, this move would definitely be the talk of the town.

Payton, surprisingly, has made comments that would suggest Jarrett Stidham could eventually become the signal-caller in Denver, overtaking Russell Wilson. Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports rumors a move that would have Mac Jones, not Jarrett Stidham taking over as signal-caller.

Jones, in his analysis, highlights Payton's past and how high he was on Mac Jones during his tenure in New Orleans. Jones discussed further, "Why wouldn't he unturn every stone as he looks to revive the franchise, especially considering he was admittedly high on Jones as a prospect while coaching the Saints?"

Recently, it was reported that Bill Belichick has been trying to shop Mac Jones because of what has been reported to be a tense environment between the young quarterback and the front office/coaching staff.

After giving up the farm to get Russell Wilson, trading for a quarterback a year later would definitely stir up some controversy in Denver. This wouldn't be trading for Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes but rather for a relatively under-proven player in Mac Jones, who has a less-than-ideal history of not agreeing with coaches.

If Payton is looking to make a splash to rile up the fan base, this would do just that. However, it wouldn't be a positive splash.

Weirder things have happened in the NFL. Let's see what happens these next few weeks.
