One of the Denver Broncos' best offensive weapons has finally revealed his thoughts on an offseason that has been nothing short of drama.

As soon as the 2023 offseason kicked off and Sean Payton was hired, the rumors started to file in. All of a sudden, both Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton were involved in trade rumors. Some rumors stated that the Broncos were shopping the two; others said they weren't.

The drama was bit everywhere, and as we see now, some of it was misleading. At the time, though, we had yet to hear from either receiver, just what we see on Instagram and Twitter. Finally, on Thursday, Sutton got a chance to speak with the media.

"It’s flattering that other teams see me as a guy that can come in and be a guy for them,” Sutton told the media.

Usually, that's how guys respond to things of this nature. Either they feel flattered or hurt that the team would even entertain the trade talk. Sutton is a guy that is good enough to get that type of attention throughout the league, and the way last season went, why wouldn't teams call and ask?

But, in the grand scheme of things, and how they plan on going into the 2023 season, it doesn't matter. Sutton loves that other teams want him, but he doesn't plan on going anywhere.

“I love that I’m here,” Sutton continued. “This is ultimately, you guys know, where I want to be at. This is home.”

Sutton has been with the team since 2018 when the team drafted him with the 40th overall pick. Sure, this is a different regime now, but he has shown to be a good enough investment in those five years.

Even in a down season for the offense last year, Sutton still walked out of 2022 with the second-best season of his career. He finished with over 800 receiving yards in a terrible offense.

The Broncos may feel like, as do many people, that he can be way better in a good system. Maybe they think he hasn't even hit his ceiling yet. Sutton is just getting started, as are the Broncos.

“Being able to come here and continue to build the things that we’re aspiring to get to,” Sutton said. “Coach Payton coming in and bringing the coaches that he’s brought in, bringing the guys that he’s brought in."

Sutton has clear potential to be a WR1, especially in this offense. Now, you have to factor in Jerry Jeudy, who also has that same type of potential and is already the Broncos' WR1. Ultimately, if the two of them are on the same team, who is the WR1 and who is the WR2 doesn't matter.

"Everybody’s bought in and ready to take this thing to the next level.”
