2022 wasn't good for the Denver Broncos, so 2023 is a make-or-break year for a lot of the players, including one young stud in Jerry Jeudy.
For a few reasons, Jeudy, the highest-drafted Broncos wide receiver ever, was in so many trade talks and rumors this offseason. One, well, the team sucks, so some teams thought they might be willing to move on; two, the young receiver hadn't exactly been living up to the draft hype and expectations so far.
Last year, he showed a flash of what can happen as he recorded a career-high 900+ receiving yards. He didn't quite break that 1,000-yard mark, though. 2023 should be a huge year for him, a make-or-break year. One CBS Sports analyst thinks so as well.
Jerry Jeudy, Denver Broncos Jeudy was drifting near Bust Island, and, ironically, had his best season as a pro during the abysmal 2022 season for Russell Wilson and the Broncos offense. After not scoring a touchdown in an irritating 2021, Jeudy scored six times last year, three coming in a wild, narrow defeat at the hands of the Chiefs in December. His yards-per-route run figure eclipsed the prestigious 2.0 mark (2.18) and his 6.1 yards-after-the-catch average was a career high. One would think that with Sean Payton now in Denver, the offense will hum at a much more efficient rate than it did during some dismal outings with Nathaniel Hackett a season ago. And Wilson can't be worse, right? RIGHT?! Jeudy falls into this very specific category because he could continue to build momentum toward a monster extension in his fourth season, or has he already reached his peak performance capability in the NFL? If the latter is ultimately the case, there's a strong chance he inks a deal elsewhere next March. – Chris Trapasso, CBS Sports
Yes, Jeudy wasn't other-worldly, but he could have had a great season had the Broncos not had the worst offense in the league last year. Jeudy has yet to have a great offensive-minded coach, and last year was his first time having a head coach who comes from that side of the ball. Obviously, Hackett didn't work out, but now the thought is Sean Payton can help him elevate his game.
A lot of Jeudy's potential success will rely on Russell Wilson too. Last year Wilson had the worst year of his career, and not many anticipate him having another year that bad. He and Wilson showed a connection at the end of the season, as he had one hell of a six-game stretch in which Jeudy racked up 523 yards and three touchdowns.
This year is make-or-break for the young stud. While last year was a career year, it simply isn't good enough for a guy who was drafted as high as he was with the trade talks and rumors he had surrounding him this offseason. If he fails to put together a good year, he could be somewhere else come 2024.

The Denver Broncos have some new versions of players coming into the 2023 season, but the biggest news is how Russell Wilson looks.
