Last offseason had a lot of high expectations, but the start of that crashing down came when two players tore their ACLs in training camp: Tim Patrick was one of them.
He isn't the reason the offense sucked last season; he isn't even top three on the list, but it certainly didn't help that their best red zone threat the year prior would miss the entire 2022 season.
On Tuesday, he did some stuff during practice and should be able to go to Week 1, barring any setbacks. However, when asked if he felt good, things got weird.
"I would say so," Patrick told the media when asked if he felt good. "How did I look? Did I look like I was limping or anything? You guys watched the practice; you guys have a better idea. I haven't seen film yet so I don't know how I look. So, your opinion is the same as mine. But I felt good; I felt healthy."
It sounded like, for a second, he got defensive, which I don't know why he would. He was asked a question everyone wanted to know and that he knew he would end up getting asked. Tearing your ACL is a big deal, which is why he didn't play a single game or snap. He never dressed for a single practice after that.
It's a long road to recovery, and he is a vital piece of this team. he will be a vital piece in the Sean Payton offense too, where he will be the guy they go to in the red zone, much like he was before. Hopefully, he does feel good because the Broncos will need him in 2023.
