The Denver Broncos have had a carousel of players coming in and out all years, in terms of guys we have never heard of on the practice squad or guys that we have heard of and don't get injured, they just don't play.

That is what injuries do to you, and no one has dealt with more impactful injuries than the Denver Broncos.

Albert Okwuegbunam has been a guy that got buried in the rotation but played a lot last season. He has barely played this season due to some other tight ends stepping up, like rookie Greg Dulcich.

Well, due to an injury to Dulcich, Okwuegbunam got his chance to play again this week, and he did not disappoint.

“I have been in Albert O’s ear all week long because I think he is a highly talented individual," interim head coach Jerry Rosburg said. "I haven’t seen him much on the field this year. I am just curious as to why that was because he is a good-looking athlete.

"You may have seen me in the tight-end drills earlier in the week. It was for a reason. I was happy he turned it about. Whatever jitters he might have had, it seemed to me like he settled down because he is a big, talented guy, and he needs to play and play well.”

The Broncos have weapons to surround Wilson, and it has shown at times this year. Okwuegbunam hasn't had a ton of opportunities this season and has even been inactive at times. The guys above him have been great, and now he had a few weeks when he had his shot.

Okwuegbunam scored a touchdown against the Chiefs on a play in which Jerry Jeudy took the corner back to the corner, and Eric Saubert and Okwuegbunam ran a scissor route with Saubert running to the corner and Okwuegbunam running to the post.

Saubert and Jeudy ran routes that perfectly freed up space for Okwuegbunam to score, as he was wide open for a 24-yard touchdown and a great throw by Wilson.

That is some of the things we can see next season with the weapons they have around Wilson. Okwuegbunam could be a huge piece next to Saubert and Dulcich next season as we know how often Wilson likes to throw to the tight end. Then add in Jeudy and Sutton and we could see the offense we were supposed to see.
