The Denver Broncos were named this week by Pro Football Focus as the best landing spot for one of the offseason's top NFL free agents.
PFF thinks Miami Dolphins free agent safety Jevon Holland would be an ideal fit for the Broncos.
Holland is rated by PFF as the No. 3 overall free agent.
From PFF: After ranking among the top five safeties in PFF grading in two of his first three seasons, Holland experienced a dip in performance in 2024, earning a career-low 63.0 overall grade. Still just 25 years old and with an impressive early-career résumé, Holland will likely attract significant interest in the free-agent market.
A key factor in Holland's decline may have been the absence of his former running mate, Brandon Jones, who joined Denver last offseason and had a career year. Reuniting the pair in Denver, which already boasts a top-five coverage unit, could elevate the Broncos' secondary to an elite level.
Holland, a former Oregon Ducks standout, was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the second round (No. 36 overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft.
The former Oregon safety has played in 60 games with 57 starts over the first four seasons of his NFL career. Holland has totaled 301 tackles, five interceptions, five sacks, and nine tackles for loss in those four seasons.
As PFF noted, signing Holland would reunite the native of British Columbia with safety Brandon Jones.
Holland and Jones were teammates in Miami for three seasons. Jones agreed to a three-year deal worth $20 million with the Broncos ahead of the 2024 season.
Holland is expected to receive a four-year deal in free agency that's worth somewhere around $18 million to $22 million annually.
