The Denver Broncos recently showed interest in a free agent that could hint at their NFL Draft plans
The Denver Broncos still have some room to improve their roster this offseason.
The Denver Broncos entered the offseason with the expectation that they’d land a free agent running back.
Travis Etienne and Kenneth Walker III were connected to the Broncos for much of the offseason.
Instead, the Broncos chose to re-sign running back J.K. Dobbins, a player with a lot of potential who has had trouble staying on the field (27 missed games over the last three seasons).
For now, the Broncos’ top three running backs are Dobbins, RJ Harvey, and Jaleel McLaughlin.
A new report, however, suggests the Broncos are still looking to add to their running back room.

According to The Denver Post’s Luca Evans, the Broncos showed interest in free agent running back Chris Rodriguez both before and after re-signing Dobbins.
“Before ultimately turning back to Dobbins, the Broncos checked on 25-year-old RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. in free agency, a source with knowledge of the situation told The Denver Post,” wrote Evans. “Even after Denver re-signed Dobbins, they still expressed interest in adding Rodriguez.”
Evans also reported that Denver is expected to host Washington running back Jonah Coleman and Indiana running back Kaelon Black on pre-draft visits.
Coleman is viewed by some analysts as a day two pick, while Black is viewed as a likely day three pick.
The Broncos clearly want to add some talent to their running back room. And it seems likely at this point, barring an unexpected signing, that the addition will come via the 2026 NFL Draft.
