One former head coach for the Denver Broncos got a new job last week. That was Nathaniel Hackett. Now, former Broncos HC Vic Fangio just got a new NFL gig as well.

Fangio is the new defensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins.

He was the HC for Denver from 2019-2021. Fangio had been a DC in the league for nearly a decade before taking the Broncos' job in 2019.

Fangio got a bit of the short end of the stick during his time in Denver.

The Broncos had insufficiency at quarterback throughout his tenure. Fangio probably deserves a bit of blame for that, but his defenses were consistently competitive in his time as their HC.

There were reports earlier in the off-season that Fangio may re-join Denver if they hired Sean Payton, but that will not happen. Payton is still a potential candidate for the Broncos, but Fangio will not be joining him regardless.

The former Broncos HC is one of the most well-respected defensive minds in the NFL. He is a veteran play-caller on the defensive side of the ball, and he will surely succeed in Miami.
