Former Denver Broncos safety P.J. Locke had a message for fans on Tuesday after agreeing to a free agent deal with the Dallas Cowboys.

Locke, an undrafted free agent who landed with the Broncos in 2019 after a brief stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers, spent seven seasons in Denver.

The former Texas Longhorns safety signed a one-year deal with Dallas worth $5 million.

After agreeing to the deal, Locke took to social media to deliver a message to Broncos fans.

“Broncos Country, For the past 7 years you guys have made Denver feel like home for my family and I,” tweeted Locke. “Things didn’t work out business wise, but just know you guys hold a very very special place in my heart that I can’t put into words. From the coaches, front office, friends, teammates and all the other relationships that were built. It’s hard moving on from that for sure, trust me. We love you guys and wish the best of luck to everyone.”

Locke had the best two seasons of his career in Denver in 2023 and 2024 when he totaled 127 tackles, four sacks, three forced fumbles, and one interception in 27 games.

The Texas native was pushed into a backup role last season after the Broncos signed Talanoa Hufanga.
