The Denver Broncos had a much better injury report to share on Thursday after a handful of players were unable to practice on Wednesday. The defense got a boost as Talanoa Hufanga, Alex Singleton, and Nik Bonitto were all full participants; Hufanga was limited on Wednesday.

Both Evan Engram and Dre Greenlaw were unable to practice in any capacity, hurting the chances of a potential Week 3 start for Greenlaw. The linebacker has been battling through injury since joining the organization in the offseason and has yet to see the field for Denver. Engram is in a similar boat, with various injuries popping up throughout the early stages of the 2025 season.

Defense gets back some weapons, Adkins trending in the right direction

The injury report should give Broncos Country plenty to be excited about, as multiple players are getting healthy at the right time.

Justin Strnad was able to practice in a limited capacity after missing Wednesday’s practice. He’s finding success in the early stages of the 2025 season, and having him on the field is paramount.

Bo Nix is set to get another option back, but Adkins’ presence will benefit J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey even more, given his blocking abilities. Adkins thrives in run blocking and inline assignments; having him back will give the offense a nice boost. Payton has long discussed how important Adkins is to the team’s vision. With back-to-back days of practices in, his chances are looking good for Week 3.

Overall, it was a good day as the team looks toward a divisional matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Nix bounced back, and the offense was buzzing during a large portion of the Week 2 loss, giving fans plenty to be excited about despite the heartbreaking finish.
