Sean Payton may need to do some damage control.

Payton, hopefully, will be cleaning up a lot of the mess that Nathaniel Hackett had left behind. Not only that, but he's working on tidying up some of the rough optics surrounding the team.

The latest development from one of their biggest stars, Javonte Williams, puts Payton and the organization in a difficult spot.

Williams, during his current rehabilitation, spent some time with the community. Specifically, the running back paired up with Patrick Surtain to host a kids football camp.

The pair coached over 250 children aged six to sixteen at Bear Creek High School. Immediately after, Williams spoke to the media and talked about his rehabilitation.

Williams had mentioned that he thinks he could be ready by week one, but that the decision wasn't up to him. ESPN Senior Writer Jeff Legwold tweeted that Williams claimed it's "up to the Broncos" when he can return to the football field.

Payton had recently opened up about Williams's return, highlighting that "we're being smart, obviously. And I said this to you before we were encouraged heading into this time of the season. So it's good to have him out here." Payton had made the comment after Williams surprisingly was wearing pads and doing some light work with the team.

It appears, from first glance, that there's a disconnect between player and organization, something that Payton will quickly want to button up so as to not cause any more distractions this offseason.

One thing is for certain, this is guaranteed to pump up the fanbase. Williams is a dynamic playmaker who has the ability to take every carry to the endzone.
