The Denver Broncos are coming off the best season that they've had in nearly a decade.

Despite going one-and-done in the playoffs, winning 10 games en route to getting to that point made for a successful 2024 campaign. Denver is getting it done with homegrown talent, which is often how the elite teams of the NFL build their rosters.

Two good examples of that are the teams that played in Super Bowl LIX – the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. The Broncos are chasing the Chiefs in the AFC West and will have to go through them to not only win the division, but win a championship.

NFL media personality Kay Adams thinks that Denver can do just that, thanks to the formula laid out by the Eagles. She detailed her reasoning during her show "Up and Adams" on Thursday.

"One team that I think can pull off the Eagles' vibe is Denver," Adams said. "Because, you talk about the formula – the ability to get pressure with four, to hold up in coverage. A team (the Broncos) that's got the Defensive Player of the Year in the secondary (Cornerback Patrick Surtain II). A DPOY finalists up front in (linebacker) Nik Bonitto. They fit the bill. And the Broncos have a little more money to play with this offseason. Russ (quarterback Russell Wilson) is working his way off the books. What they were able to do (in 2024) is insane.

"And I don't know if they could land a (Cleveland Browns defensive end) Myles Garrett, this top five defense might jump up to top two if they make the right moves," Adams continued. "What about the 'joker' role we talked to coach (Sean Payton) about? Does Deebo (San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel) fit that role? We're seeing the rumors percolate about that. So, a lot of good things going on in Denver – whether it's in the trade market, whether it's in free agency. We heard coach talk about the 'buckets', the bucket of a want, a need, and a must have. He knows what he's doing, and he's digging in, and the culture is set. A lot of things that he had to deal with to establish where they are in the past two offseasons – one was cut short. He just got the gig. Last season, he went all the way in. This is going to be the biggest jump that we see of Denver in this AFC West."

Adams went into some hypotheticals with potential trades for Garrett and Samuel, but her base point remains valid. The Broncos are building their roster the right way, starting with a strong defense. Denver led the NFL in sacks with 63 in 2024, and have a lockdown CB in Surtain to anchor the secondary.

Philadelphia showed that the best way to beat the Chiefs is to get pressure by rushing only four defenders. The Broncos can do that, and they proved it when they nearly defeated Kansas City during Week 10 of the regular season. Offensively, Denver could definitely use some more firepower, but most importantly it has its QB of the future in Bo Nix.

The connection between Nix and WR Courtland Sutton became lethal during the second half of the season. If the Broncos can add some more explosive talent to complement Sutton, they could make a big leap offensively. Denver could then take the next step toward making a deep postseason run and getting back to the Super Bowl.
