Pro Football Focus recently named the players most likely to be released by each NFL team this offseason and their choice for the Denver Broncos was a no-brainer.

PFF's Brad Spielberger thinks Broncos running back Chase Edmunds could be in danger of being cut this spring.

From PFF:

Edmonds was included in the blockbuster trade that sent edge defender Bradley Chubb to the Miami Dolphins but was unable to bounce back in Denver after a rough stint in South Beach. Edmonds’ 2.2 yards after contact per attempt ranked 83rd out of 87 running backs with at least 25 carries on the season, his 0.1 missed tackles forced per attempt ranked 80th and he converted only 11.8% of rushing attempts into a first down or touchdown, which ranked 86th.

This seems like a very easy call for Denver.

Edmonds wasn't very good for the Broncos after arriving in the Bradley Chubb deal last season.

The former Fordham standout rushed for just 120 yards in eight games with the Broncos in 2023.

At this point, Edmonds, who will turn 27 in April, is nothing more than a backup running back.

And $5.9 million is a significant amount of cash to pay a backup running back. If Denver releases Edmonds, they'll save $5.9 million in cap space with no dead cap hit.

That seems like an easy decision for the Broncos. I'd be shocked if Edmonds is still on the roster this fall.
