The Denver Broncos are far from finished upgrading their roster this offseason, but with the first wave of free agency in the rear view mirror, CBS Sports graded the job that each NFL team has done over the last couple of weeks.

And CBS Sports likes what they've seen from the Broncos so far this offseason.

The national sports media outlet gave Denver an "A-minus" for their free agency efforts thus far.

Denver's key additions and re-signings this offseason are: safety Talanoa Hufanga, linebacker Dre Greenlaw, tight end Evan Engram, defensive tackle DJ Jones, and cornerback Ja'Quan McMillian.

From CBS Sports: I'm a fan of what the Broncos have done in free agency with the additions of Talanoa Hufanga and Dre Greenlaw on defense, plus the re-signing of D.J. Jones as well. Back in 2022, Hufanga was a first-team All-Pro with 97 tackles, two sacks and four interceptions, and Greenlaw is an upgrade from Cody Barton. The X-factor addition could be Evan Engram, since he's the perfect fit for Sean Payton's "joker" role. Denver still needs some more weapons to place around Bo Nix, but this 2024 postseason surprise should be even better in 2025.

There's still work to do for the Broncos, but the franchise has certainly made some nice roster additions during the first couple of weeks of the new league year.

Denver's focus moving forward needs to be on finding a running back that can be a menace on the ground and in the passing game.

I've suggested numerous times that Tennessee Vols running back Dylan Sampson would be a nice fit for the Broncos in the 2025 NFL Draft. Sampson has a similar skillset to New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara, who thrived while playing under Sean Payton in the Big Easy.

Super Bowls aren't won in March, but the Broncos have undoubtedly improved their chances of winning one thanks to work they've done this month.
