NFL drops the hammer on multiple Broncos players ahead of Week 8 against the Dallas Cowboys
Riley Moss and Justin Strnad are in a bit of hot water from the NFL after the win over the New York Giants.
The Denver Broncos are in a bit of hot water with the NFL. Linebacker Justin Strnad has been fined $15,486 for unsportsmanlike conduct after making contact with referee Brad Allen after the win over the New York Giants.
His teammate, linebacker Dre Greenlaw, has already been suspended one game without pay for his actions after the contest, and now Strnad gets his fine from the NFL. Greenlaw appealed his suspension, but it was quickly denied, forcing him out of the game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Strnad and Greenlaw weren’t the only players to get the hammer dropped on them by the NFL, as cornerback Riley Moss was fined $8,253 for unnecessary roughness for a facemask penalty in the third quarter. The No Fun League strikes again, and multiple Broncos players’ wallets are feeling the impact.
Justin Strnad has been fined by the NFL before
As Spotrac reported, this isn’t the first time that Strnad has seen some of his hard-earned cash taken away by the NFL. In January 2025, against the Buffalo Bills, Strnad was fined $7,250 for a hip drop tackle. In total, with two fines in his career, he’s had to pay back over $22,000.
For Moss, this was his first fine by the NFL. Luckily, this cash is just a drop in the bucket for these multi-millionaires, but it’s frustrating how the fines came about. Strnad appeared to be shoved by the referee, which wound up costing him money instead.
And for Moss, the NFL was more interested in his facemask than in the blatant OPI, when he was nearly dragged down by the neck in the win against the Giants.
In total, the NFL issued nearly $24,000 in fines to Broncos players from the Giants game alone. It was the first time this season that any Bronco received a fine. Whether the league’s reasoning holds up or not, it’s another reminder that winning doesn’t always come without a cost.
