NFL insider says the Denver Broncos have ‘some interest’ in a highly coveted trade target
Could the Denver Broncos be on the verge of making a massive trade?
The Denver Broncos have had a quiet start to free agency, but all it takes is one big move — a signing or a trade — to completely flip the narrative.
And while nothing major with the Broncos appears to be imminent (though moves can happen out of nowhere), Denver reportedly has “some interest” in a major NFL trade target.
Are the Broncos interested in trading for Eagles WR AJ Brown?
According to NFL insider Brian Baldinger, there’s some level of mutual interest between the Broncos and the Philadelphia Eagles for a deal involving wide receiver AJ Brown.
“I’ll be interested to see if the price drops on AJ Brown, if that’s still a possibility,” said Baldinger to DNVR Sports. “I know that there’s interest there on both sides. Maybe tepid, but some interest — at least enough to inquire to what the asking price is. (Eagles GM) Howie Roseman hasn’t really budged off of what he wants. But you know, maybe as time goes on here through the day, maybe there’s a renewed interest in that.”
Landing Brown, who would like to be traded, would certainly be a splash. The former Ole Miss Rebels standout has topped 1,000 receiving yards in six of his seven seasons in the NFL. Brown also has 56 career touchdowns in seven seasons.
The Eagles, however, aren’t going to just give Brown away.
“They would rather not move him, even though he would like to be moved,” said ESPN’s Adam Schefter of Brown and the Eagles on Wednesday. “And they are not going to move him until they get what they feel is a fair price.”
The Broncos almost certainly aren’t going to “overpay” for Brown, so it could be tough for a deal to come together between the two sides. Still, as Baldinger pointed out, there’s at least some interest in the two sides in making a deal happen.
