The Denver Broncos lost to the Houston Texans on Sunday, ending their five-game win streak. Now, they are 6-6, and while that certainly doesn't sound as good as 6-5, or even 7-5, their season still is not over. The Broncos still have a shot at making the playoffs. But, it starts with themselves. Denver now controls their own destiny.

The Houston Texans are a good football team. C.J. Stroud is already one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and their defense showed up despite being the latter part of their team all year. So, give credit to them. The Broncos just didn't execute, and the turnovers came back to haunt them.

Their next game is against the Los Angeles Chargers. If they can win the game against a divisional opponent, it's a start. But, it will take some of the teams ahead of them losing. If the Broncos win out from here on to the end of the season, they should be in good shape. They would have to hope for a few losses, but it is definitely doable.

The Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers all sit at 7-5. If two of them lose and the Broncos win out, they make the playoffs. It's really that simple. They control their own destiny, really.

Here is how the AFC playoffs are shaping up right now:

Division Leaders

1. Miami Dolphins (9-3)

2. Baltimore Ravens (9-3)

3. Kansas City Chiefs (8-3)

4. Jacksonville Jaguars (8-3)

Wild Card Leaders

5. Pittsburgh Steelers (7-4)

6. Cleveland Browns (7-5)

7. Indianapolis Colts (7-5)

In the Hunt

8. Houston Texans (7-5)

9. Denver Broncos (6-6)

10. Buffalo Bills (6-6)

11. Cincinnati Bengals (5-6)
