The Denver Broncos have a busy 2026 offseason ahead of them. The team was one win away from the big game. After losing quarterback Bo Nix after the divisional round win over the Buffalo Bills, Nix was lost for the season, and the rest is history. Backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham just couldn’t get the job done in the wintry conditions in the AFC Championship game.

With the loss, the team now moves toward the offseason, and there are several big team needs that the team needs to prioritize. One of which is a wide receiver. While the team has wide receiver Courtland Sutton, they could use some serious vertical threats to help bolster the offense.

A to Z Sports compiled the top free agents in 2026 and has the Denver Broncos loading up on wide receivers. In the latest mock, the Broncos are landing Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed.

Rashid Shaheed to the Denver Broncos in the latest free agency mock

“The Denver Broncos are in desperate need of some help on offense. Quarterback Bo Nix took an important next step in his second season, but it was hard to ignore that the talent around him lacked the firepower needed to help elevate his game even more.

“Shaheed adds another deep threat option alongside Marvin Mims Jr. that can really take the top off defenses. The team already has Courtland Sutton, a true No. 1 wide receiver, so the rest is just gravy, as they say. Shaheed wouldn’t be taking on his normal punt return duties, as the team already has an All-Pro punt and kick returner, but his abilities as a pass catcher will be well sought after in the offseason.

Shaheed won a Super Bowl after being traded to the Seattle Seahawks, and perhaps he can go back.”

The projected deal would be a three-year, $42 million contract with $24 million in guaranteed money.

The Denver Broncos currently have $28 million in cap space, so the move would make sense financially. Shaheed is the field separator the team desperately needs and could help them get over the hump to play football in February.

Shaheed finished his 2025 campaign with 59 receptions for 687 yards and two touchdowns.

If Denver is serious about getting back to the AFC Championship game and finishing the job this time, adding a true game-breaker like Shakeed is the kind of move that signals they aren’t satisfied with being “almost.”

Nix proved he can lead a contender, taking the Broncos to the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Now, the front office must make sure he has the weapons to match. Shaheed wouldn’t just add speed, he’d add stress to opposing defenses every snap.

In a conference that’s only getting tougher, that might be the difference between watching February football and playing in it.
