The Denver Broncos had a few important choices to make at this year's trade deadline.
Over the week leading up to it, they had offers for three main players. Bradley Chubb, Jerry Jeudy, and K.J. Hamler were getting the most buzz.
They chose to trade just one of them, and that was Chubb.
The Broncos kept their young talent at wide receiver in Jeudy and Hamler.
Last weekend, it paid off big time for Denver. Jerry Jeudy caught six passes for 67 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Hamler made the biggest play go the game with a 47-yard catch.
The drive that he made that snag on proved to be the difference as the Broncos took a 21-17 lead with a touchdown on it.
The grab was a ridiculous one, and that stats back that up, too.
It was a tough play for Hamler, but he made it. The throw was good, not great. Hamler had to slow down a bit which forced him back into the defender.
He has always been a dynamic downfield target for the Broncos when healthy, though.
Accordingly, his presence needs to help Russell Wilson push the ball downfield more often. If they can do that, the Broncos' offense can continue to take steps forward.
It'll be an uphill climb, but their young receivers are proving their value in Denver.
