The Denver Broncos are expected to sign a running back in free agency.

And a couple of options are already off the board.

Kenneth Walker III is expected to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs, while Kenneth Gainwell is planning to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fortunately for the Broncos, several running backs are still available. Denver, however, reportedly isn’t in the mix for one of those options — Tyson Allgeier.

The Denver Post’s Luca Evans reported on Monday that Denver isn’t in the running for Allgeier.

It makes sense that Denver isn’t in the mix for Allgeier. The former fifth round pick hasn’t rushed for more than 700 yards since his rookie season in 2022. And he’s never caught more than 18 passes in a season.

The Broncos reportedly have interest in bringing back JK Dobbins. Free agent running back Travis Etienne is another option that makes sense for the Broncos.

The market is moving fast, so Denver will need to work quickly to make sure they lock down a top running back option.

Update:

Etienne has reportedly signed with the New Orleans Saints.
