7 Lions who could be playing their final game at Ford Field this Sunday
This could be the last time we see these guys at home unless the Lions make the playoffs.
You hope this isn’t it, right? The Detroit Lions are in a position where they could win the NFC North at the end of the season or miss the playoffs. It will all depend on what happens down the stretch.
With that said, this is the last regular-season game of the year at Ford Field, and unless the Lions win the North, this is the last home game until next season. Of course, some of the guys who will play on Sunday may not be on the team then. Let’s talk about the guys who could be playing their final game as a Lion at Ford Field.
Alex Anzalone
Nobody wants to see Alex Anzalone go, but the fact is that the Lions are well-prepared for this to happen. They have Jack Campbell, who is on the verge of his first Pro Bowl and could even get All-Pro honors this year, Derrick Barnes, who can play Anzalone’s role, and Malcolm Rodriguez, who’s ready for more. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them look to get younger in the draft, too.
The Lions not giving him an extension this summer said a lot about how they feel about his future, and while Anzalone has been a solid player and a team leader, the Lions have to move forward with the younger guys.
Marcus Davenport
This experiment did not work out at all. Marcus Davenport dealt with injuries in both seasons he was here, and in 2025, maybe it affected him more than any other injuries he’s ever had because he’s been non-impactful since returning a few weeks ago.
He’s on the field, and he’s getting snaps, but you’d never know because he’s not getting pressure, and he’s logged three tackles since being back. It’s hard to see the Lions trying one more time on this one.
Kalif Raymond
The writing is kind of on the wall here. Kalif Raymond will be 32 years old when the 2026 season starts, and the Lions have already invested in a young receiver who has a lot of similar traits in Dominic Lovett.
Plus, Isaac TeSlaa should start to see more targets as time goes on. Raymond was awesome to have and was the heartbeat of this group for a while, but time waits for nobody.
Amik Robertson
I’m going back and forth on this one. On one hand, I can see how having Amik Robertson get a new deal is the way to go. He can play well enough to keep him around in a depth role.
On the other hand, the Lions may look to make another round of investments into the corner position and the whole secondary this offseason. That includes free agency and the draft. Plus, they’re getting Ennis Rakestraw back, and we know they have plans for him. It feels like they will lean towards the latter.
Graham Glasgow
The Lions have a plan for the future of their offensive line, and the soon-to-be 34-year-old Graham Glasgow probably doesn’t fit that plan, especially if the plan is to go younger and form the offensive line of the future.
At this point, it would be a bit shocking if Glasgow doesn’t retire after this season. If he does stick around for the final year of his deal, he can be a great veteran presence and help the young guys get ready. He probably won’t start anymore, though.
Taylor Decker
This one is way up in the air. It all depends on whether Taylor Decker wants to retire. We know he’s already talked about it, and from his comments, it’s hard to see him not leaning that way, but he’s a competitor. If the Lions miss the playoffs, maybe he doesn’t want to go out that way.
This is a wait-and-see thing if there ever was one. Maybe Frank Ragnow’s 2026 decision could be attached to it.
Not playing, but Levi Onwuzurike and Josh Paschal
Neither of these guys played this season, but it’s hard to see the Lions giving it one more shot with either. It sucks because the hopes were high for both, but the injuries were just too much to overcome, and it’s hard to see the Lions waiting around for two guys who aren’t getting any younger.
Detroit Lions News
The whole thing with the Lions and David Montgomery is a bit overblown
The Lions are actually using Montgomery about the same as last year
