I don't know what more you need to do to make the Pro Bowl these days. You can be at the top of all the statistics on one of the best teams in the league and it still doesn't matter apparently. The Lions did have five players that made the Pro Bowl. That is awesome and they're all deserving. I fully realize that they not every position can be filled by a Lion. But a few guys got snubbed pretty hard if you ask me. Here's who should have made it in on the first ballot.

Amon-Ra St. Brown

Yes, St. Brown is a first alternate. That means he's locked in if anyone misses the game. With that said, he's been electric all season. He's racked up the third most receptions in the league with 112, the fifth most receiving yards with 1,371 and the fifth most touchdowns with nine. Somehow Mike Evans made it in over him. This one just really doesn't make sense to me.

Yes, Evans has the most touchdowns this year, but he's 26th in receptions and 10th in yards. I get that he makes some big plays, but St. Brown does as well and he's been one of the most sure handed receivers in the NFL.

David Montgomery

fifth alternate? Are we joking here? Look, Kyren Williams just feels a like spur of the moment type pick, but I get it. D'Andre Swift hasn't really been all that good outside of the first few weeks. Montgomery is ran for 74 less yards than Swift and he's played three fewer games than Swift. Montgomery also 12 rushing touchdowns this year. That's the same as Williams and the second most in the NFC. I don't know how that makes the fifth alternate. Montgomery should have made the Pro Bowl.

Jahmyr Gibbs

Gibbs got in as a first alternate, but there's a good argument for him getting in over Swift as well. Gibbs has 915 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, but he also has 52 receptions for 314 yards and a touchdown. That's something that neither Swift or Williams can touch.

Graham Glasgow

Glasgow has had a better season than Zach Martin has. He's been better than Landon Dickerson too. He's allowed fewer sacks than both and he grades out better than both on PFF too.  Yet somehow he didn't even make it in as an alternate.

Pro Bowl nods give multiple Lions a raise

Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta and edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson have been voted into the Pro Bowl for the first time in their careers. Along with them, right tackle Penei Sewell is going to his second Pro Bowl. What a big honor for the rookie and the second year man. Making the Pro Bowl […]
