The Detroit Lions lost a lot of coaches last year, and it doesn’t look like it’s stopping this offseason. The team has already fired offensive coordinator John Morton and lost tight ends coach Tyler Roehl to Iowa State. On Saturday, news dropped that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers interviewed Lions assistant special teams Jett Modkins for their special teams coordinator job. Now they’ve interviewed another Detroit coach.

Bucs interview Lions passing game coordinator David Shaw for their offensive coordinator job

Shaw has only been in Detroit for one year, and at this point, there’s no guarantee he will be back for a second year because he’s tied to John Morton to a degree. Plus, the Lions are looking for an OC themselves, and that could come with other changes to the staff.

Shaw has a 30 plus years of coaching experience at the NFL and college level. Most notably, he spent 15 years with Stanford and was the school’s head coach for 12 of those years. We’ll see soon enough if the Bucs like him for that job or if the Lions plan to bring him back.
