A Microsoft outage is currently affecting airports around the globe and is leaving all flights grounded. Delta, United and American Airlines flights are all part of the airlines that cannot takeoff due to the outage. This outage could very well affect the Detroit Lions believe it or not.

The Detroit Lions are slated to start training camp on Saturday when rookies are due to report. At this point some, if not all of those rookies, are out of town. Friday would have been the day to come back to Detroit and get ready to report. The outage has a really good chance of affecting this.

A "fix has been deployed" per the CEO of cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, but even if it were to be fixed today, there's now a backlog of flights that have to be made up first. Meaning everything is getting pushed back.

The Lions may have to push back their reporting dates for everyone. typically rookies will report three days earlier than vets. If they can't report until later, will the Lions look to push camp back a little or will they just be cool with everyone reporting on the same day if it comes to that? The rookies aren't the only ones struggling to fly back in. The vets need to come back to Detroit around now too.

The Lions aren't alone in this. Any team that has rookies reporting on Saturday could be affected by this. We'll see how things go from here.

Update: Multiple Lions players have taken to social media talking about how they can't get back to Detroit.
