Ok, how is everyone feeling? Sunday was kind of a rough one wasn't it? Nevertheless, the Detroit Lions season continues this week and so does our weekly mailbag series. Let's jump into it.

Here's the thing about last Sunday. You play that game 100 times and you're not going to get the same result every time. The Ravens had the Lions figured out and the Lions overthought just about everything that they possibly could scheme wise and then they had a hard time responding under the pressure of being down big.

I don't think that's an everlasting thing. The Lions need some help in some areas and they should go out and make trades to fill the hole that need to be filled.

This is still a pretty good team. If they make a splash and get even better, the sky is the limit. I don't at all think that loss on Sunday means they can't beat the big teams. Especially since the Chiefs only loss came at the hands of this team.

Let me start this off by saying that I have made my thoughts on this 49ers team pretty public. I think they're pretenders and as the weeks go, more and more people will see that.

The Vikings could be a tough out for just abotu anyone. Especially the Lions. But, for the most part, this is a team that the Lions showed that they could beat already. The Vikings didn't get better, the Lions did.

The Vikings do have an easy stretch of games coming up and they could make up some ground in the NFC North race, but it's not going to matter if the Lions just keep doing their job and keep wining games. Simple as that.

Houston has been eligible to return as early as this week. His four week IR term ended after the Lions win over the Buccaneers. The injury was initially slated to a 6-8 weeks thing. If I had to guess, we won't see the Lions start his 21-day clock until the bye week.

Although there's always a chance it happens this week. Still, I don't think he would play right away.

Over. Goff is going to get paid people. There won't be a hometown discount and their shouldn't be with the way he's played in the last 25 games or so. You can thank Daniel Jones and the New York Giants for what Goff is about to get.

Now, I have no inside information. This is purely me doing a mock contract. I think that Goff gets a five years and $250 million. That's $50 million a year. That would make Goff the fifth highest paid quarterback in the league behind Jalen Hurts.

Then, as it always happens, other quarterbacks will get paid big money and Goff's deal will look like a steal again.

I think that we as people have somewhere along the way forgotten that things evolve. It's not just with sports, it's with history, politics or medicine just to name a few things. There's this idea that the everything is always at it's end point or final form.

I've seen a lot of this from Lions fans lately. We all knew that this was going to be a rebuild from the ground up back in 2021. Yet people seem to think it's done and this is the final product. It's not. There never will be a final product. This thing is going to keep building and evolving. Maybe you win some championships along the way, but you're still not done.

This is a very good team. Whether or not they're ready to win it all this season remains to be seen. The NFL season is also a living thing that evolves. Teams deal injuries or teams get hot. It's Week 7. The reality is that we don't know who anyone really is right now.

It has to be Cody. The story is just too good and it's what people want. A few weeks ago when Cody was on Smackdown and got face to face with Regins for the first time since Mania, man that crowd popped. That was red hot.

I think Jey vs Jimmy at Mania is the way this is all going for Jey Uso. Either that or Mania will be where they reunite.

Sgt. Slaughter making an appearance in the mailbag. You have to love it. My thing on WrestleMania III is that I don't think it was a very good show outside of the Rand Savage and Ricky Steamboat match. It was a very important show for wrestling history, but I thought WrestleMania 23 was much more fun and exciting. Maybe its because I was at that one.

A look at the Lions future draft assets ahead of the deadline

We are now less than a week away from the NFL trade deadline. Things have been quiet on all fronts for pretty much every team in the league so far. The Detroit Lions included.  Typically when a trade is made in the NFL, it almost always involves draft picks. It's just part of the game. […]
