What about signing a former Michigan State Spartan?

Just one more week until my Twitter notifications are going off nonstop to the point where I hear them in my sleep. Who doesn’t love free agency? Let’s do a Detroit Lions mailbag.

Do you expect Brad Holmes to be more aggressive?

I 100% do. In a lot of ways, he doesn’t have a choice. This is the year to take the swings. Now, with that said, you have to adjust slightly what your expectations are for swings. If it’s a trade for Maxx Crosby, that’s unlikely to happen. If it’s a splash at center, then you probably have a better chance of being happy.

Here’s what I’m expecting: A big center acquisition, a good tight end, maybe a veteran edge rusher, and some secondary help.

Is it possible for an all-in move for Tyler Linderbaum?

If he makes it to the market and doesn’t accept the Ravens market-setting offer they’ve claimed to have offered him, then the Lions need to do whatever it takes to make it happen. They need to put aside their previous notions on saving money and all that and get it done. But I don’t think they’ll ever have the chance. I fully believe he stays in Baltimore.

With that said, I do believe the Lions painted themselves into a corner, and the only way out is to get a good starting center via trade or free agency. So in that regard, I do believe they’ve set themselves up for an all-in move. It’s just probably not for Linderbaum.

Will the Lions draft a center?

I thought it might be a possibility that they would draft a center that they could develop once they signed a veteran center to bridge the gap for a while. I feel a little less confident about that idea with Juice Scruggs in town. He’s still on the younger side, and maybe they want to see what they can get out of him in a few years if they keep him.

What about a trade for Blake Corum or signing Kenneth Walker?

Let me start with Walker. As a Michigan State guy, I would love nothing more than to be able to cover Kenneth Walker III. But he is the top draw at running back in free agency this year, and wherever he goes, he’ll probably be the RB1 there. It just doesn’t make sense for Detroit.

Corum does make sense, and we know that the Lions liked him going into the draft, and Dan Campbell has since complimented him a lot. A fourth could get it done, but the Rams are probably pretty unlikely to want to move him. They have a good thing going with him. No need to change that.

What does the linebacker room look like in 2026?

I think you’re looking at Jack Campbell and Derrick Barnes for starters. Malcolm Rodriguez should be back as well. I don’t think they look to do anything else at the position in free agency, but I absolutely expect them to draft someone in April. If it were me, that someone would be Pitt’s Kyle Louis.

Who else could get restructured besides Goff?

Besides Goff, who makes the most sense to restructure their contract?

There are a lot of different options here, like restructuring Penei Sewell or Alim McNeill, but I think the one that makes the most sense is Amon-Ra St. Brown. They can open up $21.5 million by restructuring him, and then they set themselves up for an extension with him later, which you know they’ll probably want to do.

Will Sol Rucca be the WWE women’s champion someday?

Do you think Sol Ruca is a future Women’s WWE champ?

Absolutley. She is the next big thing in women’s wrestling, in my opinion. But I thought you were Becky Lynch’s biggest fan?
