Who's playing?

Lions' head coach Dan Campbell was asked about starters playing in this game on Wednesday and he said there's a good chance you'll see some starters on the defensive side of the ball. He specifically said the defensive line. Campbell noted that the offense probably won't have anyone out there.

In terms of Hendon Hooker, Campbell said that things were leaning towards him playing, but that it would depend on how things went during the week. Hooker did practice on Wednesday, so that's a pretty good sign.

No word on if we'll see any of Jake Fromm, but if we do, it would likely be late in the game.

Three players to watch

  • Hendon Hooker: He was the guy everyone wanted to see last week and now he's the top guy to watch this week too. The big thing this week is that the Lions won't be playing in the rain so maybe we'll get to see Hooker unload the ball a little more.
  • Kindle Vildor: This is a big game for Vildor. He's had a really good week playing with the first team and if he can come out and ball out in this game, he should be a lock to make the roster.
  • James Houston: He had a very rough game in Week 1 and this is the time for a rebound. With the Lions taking SAM linebacker duties off of him and setting him up with just edge rusher duties, he needs to show that he can definitely still do that.
