Gibbs, Hutchinson & Sanders team with Rocket at the Super Bowl to promote being good neighbors, how you can be involved
Join Lions legends and Rocket in the neighborhood
Sadly, the Detroit Lions will not be playing the Super Bowl next Sunday, but some Lions players and Lions legends are on hand in the Bay Area right now for the Pro Bowl, and they’ll be sticking around as part of a great promotion Rocket is putting on at the Moscone Center in downtown San Francisco.
So if you’re a Lions fan and you’re attending the Super Bowl because you love football, here’s your chance to get to see Jahmyr Gibbs, Aidan Hutchinson, and Lions’ legends Barry Sanders and Nate Burleson off the field and in the neighborhood.
This year, Rocket Mortgage has a new initiative focused on being a good neighbor. Most people know what that is about. You’re feeding your neighbor’s dog while they’re out of town, lending them tools, helping with a project, or just bringing in the groceries. The people who live next to you or across the street from you are a part of your life. Even if it might be in a small way. You care for the people that live on your street, and being a good neighbor is what we need more of right now.
“This year, we’re reminding people that the neighborhood is a key component of our society, and the key part of that is that home ownership is really the bedrock of bringing people together in those neighborhoods.” Rocket vice president of sports and entertainment Doug Buser said. “So at our Super Bowl fan experience, we’ve got an activation that basically lays out different facets of what it means to be a good neighbor.”
Speaking of helping with groceries, here’s your chance to help with them. Rocket has set up a neighborhood inside the convention center where you can compete with Hutchinson and Gibbs in the neighborhood combine.
The events include pushing trash cans on sleds, bench pressing groceries, and doing a vertical leap to put mail in your neighbor’s mailbox. If you have a chance to put up some numbers and tell the world you can lift more groceries than Aidan Hutchinson, you have to take that chance.
In addition to the Lions players who are going to be there, Nicole Anderson (Model and Jahmyr Gibbs’ girlfriend), Kirk Cousins, Scott Hanson, Kristin Juszczyk, and Claire Kittle.
