The Detroit Lions are back at home this week and they have an big Monday Night Football outing against the Las Vegas Raiders. The team has been dealing with some injuries in the last few weeks. On Thursday we got some big updates on a lot of guys. Let's jump into it.

David Montgomery

So far it looks like the wait for Montgomery will have to continue. He did not practice on Thursday. The good news is that Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell said that Montgomery continues to improve before practice on Thursday. It's looking more and more like the earliest we'll see him return is after the bye week when the Lions play the Chargers.

The good news is that Montgomery was working with a trainer on the sideline. That's usually a good sign that a return is coming sooner than later.

Jonah Jackson

Jackson went down with an ankle injury against the Panthers and hasn't practiced since. After missing games against the Buccaneers and Ravens, Jackson unfortunately will continue miss practice for the Lions. He was not a participant on Thursday. This could lead to the Lions third week without him.

Jerry Jacobs

Jacobs didn't show up on the injury report last week until Saturday. He suffered a knee injury during last Friday's practice. The team tried to give it a go on Sunday, but it was affecting him so he sat the game out. Jacobs returned to practice on Thursday. The Lions really missed him on Sunday, Although I don't if anyone could have stopped that beating from happening.

Kerby Joseph

Joseph went into concussion protocol after a rough helmet to helmet hit by Odell Beckham Jr. on Sunday. He has cleared protocol and was participant at practice on Thursday.

Others

Benito Jones and Malcolm Rodriguez both missed practice, but were working with trainers on the sideline. Frank Ragnow missed, but he was also on the sideline with a trainer and he usually takes one day off a week.

3 next moves for the Lions at receiver after Marvin Jones loss

The Detroit Lions lost veteran receiver Marvin Jones earlier this week when he was forced to step away from football for personal reasons and the two sides agreed to mutually part ways.  This leaves the Lions with an open roster spot and about 20-25 snaps a game at receiver. That might seem small, but that's […]
