Last week, the Miami Dolphins fired head coach Mike McDaniel, and right away, he shot to the tippy top of the Detroit Lions’ offensive coordinator wish list, at least for fans for sure. The Lions did reach out to him later that day, but no interview was scheduled. Now one is.

The Lions will interview Mike McDaniel for their offensive coordinator job

The problem is that he’ll also interview for just about every head coach job there is. That will present a big problem for the Lions if they want to make sure they get him. So, the plan is that when he comes in for his interview, lock him in the building.

Do not let him leave until you’ve offered the job and he’s accepted it. This is the best candidate out there if you ask me. This is an immediate winning the offseason moment.

With that said, if the Lions can’t get him, it would make sense. It’s a long shot at this point. There are other great candidates, and they’re already interviewing some of them. We’ll see what happens.
