The Detroit Lions had a busy Tuesday. They made a handful of moves that shuffled the roster around. Let's take a look at what they did.

Halapoulivaati Vaitai placed on injured reserve

That's a big one to start it off. Vaitai has been fighting with a back injury all year long and it seems that things are getting worse instead of better. He'll go on injured reserve for the next four weeks and have a chance to come back against the Broncos in Week 15. We'll see how things go.

Vaitai being placed on injured reserve does open up a roster spot for the Lions. We'll keep you updated on what they do there.

Released Anthony Averett and Devine Ozigbo from practice squad

Ozigbo got a few shots at the 53-man roster this year due to injury and he never really made a big impact. He was waived from the 53-man roster last week and then signed back to the practice squad a day later. The Lions have decided to part ways with him this week.

I thought the veteran Averett would get a chance to help the Lions who have been dealing with injuries in the secondary all year and they just never wound up using him. He never got elevated at all. He'll be a guy that should get a shot somewhere else.

Signed Michael Schofield and Kindle Vildor to practice squad

Schofield is a guy you might recognize. He played for Michigan not too long ago. He also spent last season starting some games for the Bears. Schofield has played 113 regular season games and has started 86 of them. The former third-round pick is a shoe in to take that open roster spot and give the Lions some offensive line depth with Vaitai out. Schofield can play both tackle and guard.

Kindle Vildor is another guy you might recognize. He spent three seasons with the Bears and started 22 games for them. Vildor played two games for the Titans this year before they released him in October. He was just with the Eagles for couple weeks. He's another guy that could maybe see some 53-Man roster time.

Lions brought on some guys with a lot of playing time and starting experience. These are solid practice squad moves.

Lions ran a play from the Chargers playoff nightmare

It's kind of hard to not feel bad for the Los Angeles Chargers. I grew up a Detroit Lions fan. There's a lot of empathy to feel there. I've also seen a lot of collapses and losses that you can't believe just happened. The Chargers suffered one of the their worst losses last year in […]
