The Detroit Lions are back at home on Sunday to take on the Cleveland Browns. Ahead of that matchup, the Lions have made a small handful of roster moves. Including one Lions fans have been asking for. Here’s what they’ve done

Elevated WR Jackson Meeks from the practice squad

It felt like Meeks had a good chance to make the 53-man roster during the summer because he flat-out killed it in the preseason. He was the big star for Detroit in August.

However, the Lions ultimately decided not to go with him. Now he will get a shot to dress in this game and participate on special teams at least. We’ll see how much attention he gets on offense, but this is a big deal for the undrafted rookie.

Placed S Daniel Thomas on injured reserve

Thomas had surgery on his forearm earlier this week. This injury occurred earlier in the season, and he attempted to play through it, but the surgery was necessary. Now, the Lions will give him at least four games to recover. This does open up a roster spot, but the Lions chose not to fill it today.
