The Detroit Lions have a big game tonight. They can move that much closer to clinching the number one seed in the NFC with a win over the Dallas Cowboys. They made some roster moves ahead of the game that could have an impact on what the Lions want to do in this game. Here's the moves they made:

Elevated Tyson Alualu from practice squad

We're finally going to get to see the Lions debut of Tyson Alualu on Saturday night. The Lions signed the former first round pick to their practice squad shortly after Alim McNeill was placed on injured reserve. Now they'll look to see what they can get out of him under the lights during primetime. If he plays well, he could stick around and help McNeill, who is expected to practice next week, along the defensive line since both Isiah Buggs and Benito Jones have been struggling.

We'll see just how much he hits the field on Saturday night. Bruce Irvin, who is a comparable player in terms of age, has played about 11 snaps per game in his first two games with the Lions. It could be similar for Alualu. Especially since this is his first game since January of 2022.

Elevated Bruce Irvin from practice squad

Lions fans have been clamoring for more Bruce Irvin. He has not been active since the Lions played the Broncos. Looks like we'll get to see him go against the Cowboys. The Cowboys offensive line is dealing with some injuries and this is a good time to have all the pass rush help the Lions can get to take advantage of that.

Irvin has played 24 snaps this season and he has four pressures, two hurries, a quarterback hit and a sack. We'll see if he can add to that against the Cowboys.

Signed Anthony Firkser to active roster

This feels like it says an awful lot about Brock Wright's injury. He could potentially be missing some time soon. Firkser played last week against the Vikings, but he didn't really see the field a lot. We'll see if he sees more action against the Cowboys. Now that the team doesn't have a Cabinda anymore, I wonder if they'll try to use Firsker as a fullback. he has some history doing that in the NFL.

Signed Chase Lucas to practice squad

The Lions had to waive Lucas earlier in the week to open up some spots to make room on the 53-man roster. They were reportedly  hoping to get him back and those hopes paid off. Lucas cleared waivers and the Lions have brought him back to be a part of their practice squad. A great move for the Lions to hold onto a young corner with a lot of upside.

4 Lions that can have most success against the Cowboys

This game is just huge. It's easy to just kind of feel like the Detroit Lions season is over since they accomplished such a big regular season goal, but here's a chance to get an even bigger one. If you want that first seed, you're going to have to fight for it and beat the […]
