The Detroit Lions had a rough day at the office against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. They laid a real egg int he second half of the game and lost 28-13. Pro Football Focus has put out their grades for this game. Let's take a look at the Lions highest graded player as well as some of the highs and lows around the team.
Highest graded:
Jalen Reeves-Maybin was the Lions highest graded player from Sunday. He graded out with an 82.9 grade. He had a sack and nice pass breakup on 11 offensive snaps. Not bad for last weeks special teams player of the week.
Highs
- Penei Sewell: 78.6. No surprise that Sewell got a good grade again. He did not allow a sack yet again. Although he did struggle in pass blocking like everyone on the line did.
- Josh Reynolds: 71.7. Donovan-Peoples-Jones had a higher graded with 75.5, but he only played nine snaps. Reynolds was the one bright star for the Lions on Sunday with a three catches for 44 yards and a touchdown.
- John Cominsky: 73.7. Cominsky quietly had his second best game of the season on Sunday. The Lions need to hope that this is something that carries on from here.
Lows
- Jared Goff: 44.8. Probably Goff's worst outing since the 2021 season. He couldn't stop getting hit, he couldn't throw a good ball and the offense just failed around him because of it.
- Amon-Ra St. Brown: 40.6. You usually don't see St. Brown in this section but the Bears had all the answers for him on Sunday. They took him right out of the game. He caught three passes on nine targets.
- Alex Anzalone: 29.3. Anzalone was bad almost immediately in this game. That's not something we've seen a lot from him this season. He got in a rut earlier and kept digging downwards instead of getting out of the hole.
Brad Holmes weakness is more glaring than ever after loss
Let me start this off by saying that Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes has done a phenomenal job with this team. Yes, he has a weakness and we'll get to it, but that does not at all overpower the fact that he took this team at one of it's lowest points ever and rebuilt […]
