The Detroit Lion shad a big week in Week 15. They got a big 42-17 win over the Broncos. On top of that, the Vikings, Packers, Bears and Cowboys all lost.

To top that, the Eagles just lost on Monday night football. While that cost the Lions it's chance to clinch the playoffs this week, It helped the Lions in the grand scheme of things. They now have a chance to get that number one seed in the NFC. Here's how the playoff picture looks for the Lions after Week 15:

  1. 49ers: 11-3
  2. Cowboys: 10-4
  3. Lions: 10-4
  4. Buccaneers: 7-7
  5. Eagles: 10-4
  6. Vikings: 7-7
  7. Rams 7-7

In the words of Kobe Bryant, "jobs not done." The Lions still have some big things left to accomplish in the regular season. They can do two big things next week. They can clinch the playoffs, their first division title since 1993 and their first NFC North crown ever. The Lions can also move to the second seed with  win on Sunday.

The other goal is the one seed in the NFC. That's not sewed up just yet. The one seed is going to take more help from other teams. That game against the Cowboys in Week 17 could be a big one.

Here's the 49ers and Cowboys upcoming schedules:

49ers

  • Ravens
  • Commanders
  • Rams

Cowboys

  • Dolphins
  • Lions
  • Commanders
