Week 12 did not go the Detroit Lions way when it comes to the big stuff. The Lions were unable to win on Thanksgiving and then the Eagles overtime win over the Bills seemingly pushed the Lions out of contention for the number one seed. Anything can happen. but it's going to be harder.

On Monday Night Football we might have witnessed the ugliest game ever, but that game went in Detroit's favor. The Bears helped the Lions get out even further from the Vikings in the division.

Here's the updated playoff picture for the Lions with Week 12 in the books.

  1. Eagles: 10-1
  2. 49ers: 8-3
  3. Lions: 8-3
  4. Falcons: 5-6
  5. Cowboys: 8-3
  6. Seahawks: 6-5
  7. Vikings 6-6

Aside from the obvious directives of just making the playoffs and winning the division, the Lions should be looking to get into the playoffs with the highest seed they can get. The 49ers and Cowboys are two teams that can stand in the way of that. Luckily for the Lions, both teams have a hard stretch ahead of them. Here's what th3 49ers have:

  • Eagles
  • Seahawks
  • Cardinals
  • Ravens
  • Commanders
  • Rams

As for the Cowboys, here's what they have to look forward to:

  • Seahawks
  • Eagles
  • Bills
  • Dolphins
  • Lions
  • Commanders

We'll see where things go in the coming weeks. Welcome to the home stretch Lions fans.
