It's kind of hard to not feel bad for the Los Angeles Chargers. I grew up a Detroit Lions fan. There's a lot of empathy to feel there. I've also seen a lot of collapses and losses that you can't believe just happened. The Chargers suffered one of the their worst losses last year in the wildcard round when a scrappy Jacksonville Jaguars team came from behind to beat them.

The Chargers had a chance to end the Jaguars comeback in that game. They had the Jaguars stopped on a 4th-and-1 and all they had to do was take care of business and they were headed to the next round. Then Doug Pederson drew up this play.

Riley Patterson, yes, your Riley Patterson, then kicked the biggest field goal of his career and the Jags won the game 31-30.

Lions' Offensive Coordinator Ben Johnson must have been watching this game. Becasue he drew up the same exact play for the Lions on Sunday on a 4th-and-1

There's a slight difference in the way that guys line up in the backfield, but otherwise that's the same play. We weren't the only one's to notice either. Chargers safety Derwin James also caught that the Lions were serving up something from the Chargers past.

A very heads up move from Ben Johnson and the Lions to see that the Chargers were still susceptible to that play. The Lions did not score on that drive though. That was that was the goal line drive where they couldn't punch it in. They did score the next one though and they went on to win the game with a Riley Patterson field goal. You can't write this stuff.

Dan Campbell went super hard against analytics Sunday

We all know that Detroit Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell is a very aggressive coach. The man loves to go for it on a fourth down. They've done it 22 times this year. Five of them were on Sunday alone.  Sometimes this guy is just crazy though. Sometimes Campbell will microwave a fork while holding […]
