That didn't take to long. The Detroit Lions welcomed receiver Tom Kennedy in for a visit on Wednesday and they have now signed him to their practice squad. Shouldn't be too much of a shocker. The Lions have seen a lot of Kennedy over the years and he's been pretty dependable.

The sad part of this is that the Lions had to let go of Dylan Drummond as a corresponding move. You hate to see that. Drummond was one of the big stories of the summer for the Lions. He came in after not receiving and invite to the draft or work out from any other team and he worked his way onto the practice squad. For a moment it seemed like he would make the Lions 53-man roster. 

It's a bit surprising to see him go, but Kennedy has two seasons of experience with this coaching staff and they know what they can get out of him. As for Drummond, he'll go through waivers and if he's not claimed, he'll be a free agent. Maybe he comes back after that. We'll see.
