The NFL just opened up Pro Bowl voting last week and the votes are flooding in. Matt Schneidman of The Athletic put up some of the early voting numbers and the Detroit Lions are all over this thing.
Here's a breakdown of what things look like right now:
- Jared Goff is ninth in votes for quarterback. He's fourth among NFC quarterbacks in votes. Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is the top vote getter.
- Amon-Ra St. Brown is fourth in receiver votes and third in NFC receiver votes. Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill leads all receivers in votes.
- Sam LaPorta is fourth in tight end votes and third among NFC tight ends. Interestingly enough, TJ Hockenson is right in front of him with the third most votes. Taylor Swift's boyfriend has the most votes.
- Penei Sewell is fourth among tackles in votes and fourth in the NFC. 49ers tackle Trent Williams leads in votes.
- Frank Ragnow is fourth among centers and second in the NFC. Taylor Swift's boyfriend's brother has the most votes.
- Aidan Hutchinson is seventh among defensive ends. He's the third highest vote getter in the NFC though. Brown's phenom Myles Garrett is the top dog.
- Jake McQuaide is 10th in votes for long snapper. He's fifth among NFC players. Vikings snapper Andrew DePaola is getting the most votes.
Snubs
I think there's a few guys that probably should be getting more votes. Alim McNeill is going to miss some time now, but he's been one of the best interior defensive linemen in the NFL this year.
I really thought voters were going to turnout for Alex Anzalone this year. But he did not make the top 10. The other linebacker that should be getting votes is this weeks special teams player of the week Jalen Reeves-Maybin. He was not in the top 10 for special teams player votes.
Jack Fox did not make the top 10 in punters. I'm actually really shocked by this one. There's still time to get your votes out there. You can vote here.
