NFL analyst says Jared Goff wasn't the best quarterback on the field on Monday night, seriously, he said that
The Detroit Lions got a big 42-29 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night and the highlight of the night was Jared Goff throwing a perfect complete game. The only one in NFL history. He went 18-18 for 225 yards, two passing touchdowns and a receiving touchdown. What a night. Of course not everyone […]

Of course not everyone saw it that way. Pro Football Focus' Timo Rikse thinks it was Geno Smith who had the better night at quarterback.
Smith went 38-56 for 395 yards, one touchdown and an interception. It wasn't a bad game by any means, but are we kidding here? Just let the 2018 Goff stuff go and finally admit that he's a good quarterback.
I fully get the analytic side of things. I really do. I'm sure there were more big time throws or less interceptable passes. I'm sure he did better under pressure or whatever you want to say. But the fact is that what happened on Monday night was that a quarterback went out there and played a full game without throwing an incomplete pass and it wasn't just check downs or dink and dunks. He threw the ball all over the field and did something nobody has ever done before.

Would it kill you to just say one time that this guy had a great game and then move on instead of trying to find away to be overly analytical about it? It just seems too much on purpose in this case. Both guys played great games.. You're going to have a hard time convincing anyone that the guy who was perfect had the worst game.
