Here's a breath of fresh air for the NFL. A very small breath of fresh air. I'm talking so small that you might want to put a respirator on for this. The crew is reportedly expected to face some punishment from the NFL in the form of they will be downgraded and out for the playoffs.

That might seem like it's no big deal and I get that. It's not a big deal to the Lions or their fans. It is a big deal to the officials though. They will lose out on playoff pay and playoff benefits. They tend to make significantly more during the playoffs. So take the smallest amount of solace in the idea that nobody is going to be reaping any benefits from this ridiculous moment.

In case you need a refresher on what exactly happened, Taylor Decker approached Allen to report as eligible on a two point  conversion and Allen instead made the decison that it was Dan Skipper, who was about 25 feet away from the conversation and didn't say a word, who reported as eligible as he ran away from Decker.

Then he was shocked when the guy that didn't report as eligible lined up as a guy that's not eligible and threw the flag and cost the Lions a potential 21-20 win over the Cowboys and a potential shot at the number one seed in the NFC. He did all of this despite Dan Campbell going over the play with him beat by beat before the game even started. It's incompetence at it's worst.
