The Detroit Lions offense has been firing on all cylinders this year. Right now they're 4th in offensive DVOA, third in total yards and eighth in points for. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has been a revelation for this team and now there are a lot of teams that want him to be a revelation for them.
Per a report from NFL Insider Tom Pelissero, "Many league sources consider Johnson the most coveted candidate in this hiring cycle."
Get ready for an all out bidding war for the Lions offensive coordinator. Johnson interviewed with the Texans and Colts last year before opting out of his interview with the Panthers and agreeing to stay in Detroit. While I don't think it's totally out of the question that he could do that again, It's going to be a lot harder to retain him this year. Especially with all the dump trucks full of money on his lawn.
Teams I'm keeping an eye on are the Chargers, Bills, Panthers and the Bears. Imagine what he could do with Josh Allen or Justin Herbert. It's pretty scary.
