I can't believe that it's 2023 and I'm still writing articles about Ndamukong Suh and the Detroit Lions. Two parties that broke up in 2014 and have been circling each other ever since. Suh is expected to do his annual thing where he joins a championship contender weeks before the playoffs at any time now. It doesn't look like that's going to happen with Detroit.

But apparently there was some dialogue. Per former Detroit News columnist Terry Foster, Suh reached out to the Lions about playing in Detroit and the Lions declined.

"Ndamukong Suh reached out to the Lions about playing here, but he reached out to like four or five other teams also." Foster said. "So he made the initial offer about coming here. Ndamukong Suh has been in Detroit a lot over the last few months. He has investments here. He's embracing this community more than he did when he was a player, because when he was a player, he wanted to get the hell out of here. But now I think he sees a Lions team that confident, that can win and that he could be a guy that could be a 20 to 25 snap per game defensive tackle in that rotation. So he does have an interest in coming here. But you know, slam the door shut up. So far, Detroit Lions. They say no."

Foster goes on to explain that there's some concern that Suh may not be the best player for the Lions current culture due to the idea that he tends to be more of a me first kind of guy and that could upset what the Lions have in the locker room right now.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell was asked about Suh earlier this week and he alluded to the idea that the two sides had talked, but that the Lions feel good about the path they went with Tyson Alualu.

"Yeah, Brad's looked at all of it. We haven't overlooked anybody. Brad's got it all up there. We've looked at everybody. So at this moment, we made the decision we felt like is best for us."

That sort of says it all. The Lions don't seem to have any interest in Suh and the reasons that Foster gave certainly seem to be reasons that you might think the Lions would have for declining. Looks like that will put an end to that.

7 Takeaways from a bad Lions’ loss to the Bears

The Detroit Lions looked like they had chance to control this game and then the third quarter happened and all hell broke loose in the worst way  and the Bears ran up the score. The Lions couldn't get the comeback win this time and they lose 28-13 to the Bears. As always, I have thoughts […]
