LSU held their Pro Day on Wednesday and the Detroit Lions were in the house to take a look at some players they have already shown some interest in during the pre-draft process.

Of note, the Lions had a formal meeting at the 2025 NFL Combine with edge rusher Sai'Vion Jones. They also had a combine formal meeting with offensive lineman Emery Jones. Lastly, they had a meeting at the Shrine Bowl with running back Josh Williams.

The Lions scouts weren't the only representation they had in the building on Wednesday; Lions defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo was there to support his former LSU teammates.

Wingo spent two seasons with LSU and was a great player there. The Lions fell in love with him and took him in the sixth round of last year's draft. Wingo was showing some real promise in his rookie year before he got injured.

He's expected to continue his growth in 2025, and he's someone to really pay attention to when it comes to pass rushing. Wingo is a bit undersized on the interior, not that this matters a whole lot to his play, but you get the sense that he could potentially kick out to the edge and play there due to his pass rush ability that he's shown. Definitely something to watch during training camp.
