The Detroit Lions held their local pro day on Tuesday and some big time names showed up to work out for the Lions. The biggest of all being Missouri edge rusher Darius Robinson.
The Lions had a formal meeting with Robinson at the NFL Combine and the Southfield, Michigan native talked about how pumped he was for that meeting and how great it would be to play for his hometown team that he grew up cheering for.
He is expected to be there for the Lions with the 29th pick if they feel the same way about him
Some other big names to keep an eye on is Clemson defensive lineman Ruke Orhorhoro. The former River Rouge standout is expected to be one of the top interior defensive linemen selected in this draft. He's slated to go in the second round at the moment.
Michigan starts Roman Wilson and Mike Sainristil were in the house as well. both are expected to go on day two. Wilson has been a stud through this entire draft process and should be a great pro. Sainristril would be a phenomenal Lion, but there's questions on whether or not the Lions need him with Brian Branch being so good at the nickel last year.
Lastly there's Auburn defensive lineman Justin Rogers. The former Oak Park player is expected to be a day three pick. The Lions could be in the market for some depth along the interior of their defensive line around that area if they don't draft one higher.
Here's the list of everyone that was there per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press:
- UCLA safety Jordan Anderson
- Michigan tackle Karsen Barnhart
- Michigan defensive lineman Michael Barrett
- Toledo defense tackle Judge Culpepper
- Northern Iowa quarterback Theo Day
- Texas A&M cornerback Josh DeBerry
- Eastern Michigan receiver Hamse El-Zayat
- Northern Illinois defensive lineman James Ester
- Kansas cornerback Kalon Gervin
- Michigan linebacker Jaylen Harrell
- Michigan offensive lineman Trevor Keegan
- Eastern Michigan linebacker Chase Kline
- Eastern Michigan receiver Tanner Knue
- Toledo cornerback Chris McDonald
- Michigan State receiver Tre Mosley
- LSU edge Ovie Oghoufo
- Oklahoma safety Reggie Pearson
The final free agent the Detroit Lions need to bring back for 2024
Free agency is pretty much in the books for the Detroit Lions. They walked into the process with quite a few of their own free agents and they've managed to bring back 16 players that were on their roster in 2023. I think there's one more that the Lions should consider bringing back and that's […]
