As we’ve known for a couple months now, the Detroit Lions will be playing an international game in 2026.

What we haven’t known is where that game was going to be. Now we know and nothing has ever made more sense than this.

The Detroit Lions will play in Munich, Germany in 2026

There you go. It just fits so well doesn’t it? For starters, there’s Amon-Ra St. Brown who is a dual citizen of both the United States and Germany. He is a big start in the country and has been doing interviews with German media since 2022. It just makes so much sense right?

On top of that, if you’ve been paying attention to the Lions and their social media or if you’ve been at training camp and been around the guests they’ve had in the building, then you know they’ve been doing work to promote themselves in Germany for years. They even have a German version of Roary named Leo Lowe.

Now that we know that the Lions will be in Germany, the next move is to find out who their opponent there will be and when that game is going to be. If we had to guess, and let me be clear, this is an educated guess, the New York Giants make a lot of sense.

The Giants have also been doing a lot of work to promote themsellves in Germany. They also played the NFL’s first ever game there. They are on the Lions schedule this year and it just makes a lot of sense. We’ll see what happens when the league makes the announcment. The schedule will be out in May.
