The Detroit Lions made smart move on Tuesday when they decided to give cornerback Emmanuel Mosely another shot after a bad luck season in 2023. They have re-signed him to a one year deal.

Mosely was one of the big signings at cornerback for the Lions in free agency last year and he was expected to be a starter for the team once he healed from the ACL injury that he suffered with the 49ers the year before. Once Moseley finally made it back to the field, he played two snaps for the Lions before tearing his other ACL.

At the time it seemed like a no brainer to send him on his way after the season, but then Moseley became a part of the locker room down the stretch and did a lot of his rehab with the team and was there to help the players. That went a long way with the Lions front office and coaching staff and they have decided to give him another shot on a one year deal.

Now, Moseley and the Lions will likely be in a similar spot to what they were last year. He probably won't be able to join the team till near the end of training camp, but he should be able to get back on the field early on in the 2024 season. I would imagine Moseley will be a depth piece for this team going forward. If he can return to the player he was with the 49ers, this move will pay off in the end. If he can't, the Lions don't have ton invested here. It's low risk move with a possible high reward.
